Dave is an extremely versatile artist as well as custom cabinetmaker, furniture maker, and a proficient sign carver. He started combining his skills in the early eighties after his formal art training. He became a valuable resource for a variety of projects. As an oil painter,he is a repeated soloist at the Southern Vermont Art Center in Manchester Vermont.
Everyday life, like highlights in a painting .Not necessarily the perfect light, but the perfect moment. It’s the people, places and circumstances we tend to find ourselves in that we would like to preserve. There are so many experiences in life that make artists who they are. For Dave, it’s also a feeling of being painted not necessarily him painting. Not quite sure what is around the corner, but hopefully recognizing that “next moment”. Dave’s background is in agriculture, and tends to be a people person . Combined together, his farmscapes tell a story. Individuals and local characters that he know’s mixed with everyday scenarios of farm life. “I follow my heart. It seldom let’s me down. So for me there is an endless foray of paintings to complete. Studying for me is painting outdoors and directly from life, next I am able to build my composition from my studies. The results, painted moments in life formed by brush, paint and relationships. That has always been my goal. It’s what motivates me, keeps me fresh and new and distinguishes my work.” Dave is represented by The Gallery on the Green in Woodstock Vermont.
His oil paintings have been licenced Nationally to company's such as White Mountain Puzzles, Wincraft, Thirstysone,Tree Free and more. Some of Dave's work can be seen in the Vermont State House. His furniture has been featured in Vermont Magazine, Log Homes magazine, The New York Times. His custom built "Highlander Armoire"was feature cover for Custom Woodworking Magazine. He has won a jurors award at the Stratton Arts Festival and a juried member of Frog Hollow State Craft Center in 1997.

Patty Herzfeld creates beautiful stoneware.All high fired. Custom dinnerware sets, nesting sets, wonderful handthrown vessal sinks which are collaborated with her husband Dave to create incredible one of a kind vanities. All sinks are housed with a drain fitting and scribed apon request.
